God Has Outrages Interest Rates

I put my first fruit offering into the offering bag and I was nicely surprised, I did not have to wait long…

There are people who move their savings from one bank account to another one just to get 1-2% extra of the interest, but they do know that God has outrages interest rates.

Tithing is important, I heard it so many times that. We all know all the promises that are waiting for us.

(Luke 6:38) “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

(2 Corinthians 9:6-14). “Whoever sows generously will also reap generously.”

I must be honest, I heard it so many times but it just could not go through my thick skin. Maybe you can relate to that. I was doing business and I was looking for the breakthrough. Somehow it always seems to be around the corner.

In the initial days, whenever I heard a preacher asking for the offering, I thought “It is all about money”, later I realised that tithing is important, but still I was not really tithing. I was bringing some offering every now and then and I thought that if I bring a little bit more, God will bless me a bit more…. I have to admit it did not work for me…

Then, I remember driving back from one of the trips with a Louie. He shared his testimonies how he experienced several breakthroughs. Right after, I shared with him about my need for a breakthrough and while driving he turned my way, pointed finger and asked with a serious voice “do you tithe brother?” – that pierced something in me.

A short while after that, I had a chat with my pastor. I asked for a prayer for a breakthrough. He told me to read Malachi 3:9-12. I told him I know it very well, but I decided to reread it. It turned out that I knew just part of it. I knew by heart this amazing promise:

(Malachi 3:10-12) “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

Malachi 3:10 has such an amazing promise. But it was not what the pastor asked me to do. He asked to read from Malachi 3:9

(Malachi 3:8-9) “Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How do we rob you?’ “In tithes and offerings. {9} You are under a curse–the whole nation of you–because you are robbing me.” Not bring tithes and offerings is called robbing God…

Take Care of God’s Business and He will take care of your Business

Back to the story, I brought my two first fruit offering and placed it in the offering bag. I prayed with expectations. I have to say I did not have to wait long.

Around two weeks later, we went for a mission trip to Alor Setar. The rain of sales actually started around the day e were leaving for the trip. Sales were coming from random places like Lithuania, Argentina… and then throughout the trip, more and more.

I shared it with my roommate, Elijah, he said with a smile “it is always like that when you take care of God’s Business and He will take care of your business”. I shared the testimony with my friend in the UK, he said exactly the same.

The verse (Matthew 6:33) kept coming up all the time. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” Then we left our hotels and went for a service and during the sermon pastor shared on Matthew 6:33 🙂 I just smiled to myself, what an amazing God we have.

When I went back home, something hit me, I did the math and I worked out that God blessed me over 100 times more than what I had sown… It is all in the bible (Matthew 13:8)  “Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop–a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”

So then I did my math and it hit me again, God does have outrages interest rates, 100 fold = 10,000%. All glory goes to God.
